Healthy lockdown

How to stay sane in a lockdown is a contemporary theme. Mentioned less often is how to stay healthy in one. When the queue for vegetables is an hour long and you attract the attention of the police by having some exercise (or the attention of the national media if you are the Minister of Health) then the challenges are unique. I personally believe the lockdown will be much longer than the four weeks announced so far; eight weeks is entirely plausible, and even eight is not guaranteed to do the job. So those of us who quietly mind our health week on week with our lifestyle choices, particularly with respect to suppressing unhealthy inflammation, need to ensure things do not go backwards. The enemy is all that extra time and constrained choices. Pizza and box sets of Lord of the Rings are still just treat options not daily defaults.

Antioxidants exist at respectable levels in tinned and frozen produce and walks around the block (which at the moment are within the rules) are as good for your system, if not as interesting, as ones over the nearby rolling hills.

In my view the key is using the extra time for new things. This might, for instance, be a good opportunity to look further into meditation, which you keep hearing about, but never get around to investigating. Or seeing how long you can go without red meat or sugar. Or finding new ways of presenting frozen peas and tinned lentils.  Most of good health is about following simple rules often and well, and lockdown is just a way of doing things differently.

Unfortunately, Lifeguard Health has been affected along with thousands of other businesses. We cannot get new stock of Lifeguard Essentials supplements made and we do not know when this will change. We still have stock to sell however, and we are still shipping. Our website will be updated in the next 24 hours with further details.
